Look at the umlaut over the "a"! Is that new?! Maybe we can look forward to Giru Beer someday. ;)

We have feet and we know how to use them, stand back!

Run, Forrest!

There are TONS of fast cuts; no shot lasts more than 1/4 of a second.

Ryo (d) is in a lot of shots, too. And lit well! (I guess because he can't move out of the lights like the other guys can...)

Nii (g) and Shuu (b) are nearly invisible in their shots.

See? They need some glow-in-the-dark eyeliner.

Whoa! New setting! We must be in the chorus already.

Nii (left) has cool poses for someone in very real danger of wearing his guitar too high.

Ryo again! [~ding!~]

Ahh someone get me out of this visual kei cliche!

Hmm, actually, I like the light on the fretboard instead of the face; makes you wonder if a former guitarist directed the vid.

It's a very active video too, the Gilgies can certainly tootle with vigor.

But then, before you know it...

...it's owari.
Awesome vid. Four minutes long. No story, no blonde girls walking around in a daze, just balls-out rawkin'. The lighting is constantly exploding, the cameras are never still, the band goes bonkers, and the editing races along a ninja chef dicing carrots. Catch it if you can!
rating: :)
Looks awesome! And I'm a sucker with PV's with no random shit, I just love to see the bands playing.
ReplyDeleteR.
It makes me wanna change Nii's name to "Kaoru 2.0"; he moves differently but still has the same authentic rawkingness.
ReplyDeleteOh I didn't notice how Nii has some freakishly long fingers, reminds me of Paul Gilbert.

Man, I wish they would just call themselves Gilgamesh. I can't stand the people who bitch when you don't spell it girugamesh. The only thing worse than that are people who try to say that jrockers aren't actually wearing swastikas, they're just Buddhist symbols. Yeah, Sugizo's not wearing a full SS uniform; he's just a practicing Buddhist... ok, off topic.
ReplyDeletegiru beer huh? go you sneaky bastard, i know what's going on!
ReplyDeletethey should post this vid on youtube so i dont have to download it
ReplyDeleteThat umlaut makes the pronunciation, giru-gay-mesh. Literally. Umlauts always, seemingly, make things more metal though.
ReplyDeleteThe Gilgies should be their rockabilly alter-ego, not unlike the Metallicats.
ReplyDeletefirst i tried YouTube, but failed at 76% (after 30minutes of waiting).
ReplyDeletethen i wasted ten frustrating minutes trying to upload the PVs at Tonberry, and they STILL wouldn't work. That system is a fucking MESS. I miss the old, easy Tonberry.
Then i spent maybe 90 seconds atjpopsuki and voila, instant success. (I just wish they didn't have that "pending" delay.)
Anyway, Gilgamesh's Owari to Mirai PV (in large & small sizes) is up!
Thank you Gordon!
ReplyDeleteR.
i just call em "gi-ru-ga-mesh"
ReplyDeletethe name gives them more uniqueness to me
nways, i just want that jpopsuki to end the pending thing asap.
thanks for uploading.

well, i left my PC seeding, its 8 hours later, i just got back from the city, and Jpopsuki STILL hasn't confirmed the uploads so I guess I ~won't~ be seeding these videos after all. sorry guys.
ReplyDelete(i'll see if they got their act together tomorrow morning, but i'm def. not leaving my PC on all night for nothing)
ReplyDeleteThanks to IKEA, whenever I see umlauts now I automatically think: product name.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, if you stuck Girugamesh in Helvetica Neue with that umlaut they could be a set of nesting tables or something.
